    hello,
    I have a new blog and would like to know if there is a software like Marsedit for PC and not Mac that helps me with formatting problems. Could you recommend something?
    Thank you very much,
    Raphaela

    Hi Raphaela – take a look at this post:

    @Raphaela, a Mac is a PC.

    Any chance that you can extend the Picasa feature to make it similar to the Flickr feature? I am hoping to use my Flickr account for things other than screen shots. Having a mix of screen shots and nature/people shots in my Flickr photo stream is a real drag. I could use my Picasa account to host screen shots but then would have to manually copy paste from a browser into MarsEdit.

    The Flickr feature is in some sense a proof of concept. I would like to eventually open it up to other services, so that you could somehow configure the media manager to contain tabs for each of the services you are integrating with. That said, it’s a lot easier to do a single service than to generalize such that users can plugin whatever service. But it’s on my TODO list anyway.

    Just a note to say thank you. MarsEdit fills a void in the Mac blogging market. The live preview is essential. I had used a “different” blogging app and then switched back to using WordPress’ built in editor – ugh! I had tried MarsEdit in the past but wasn’t happy. This version finally puts a smile on my face.

    I am switching my wife from that “different” software as well. I hope you continue to develop MarsEdit and improve on it – you’ve got a great base. I posted a short review on my blog and hope to do an extended review in the near future. Again, great work!

    Thanks, Chris! Really nice of you to chime in with such positive feedback. And I appreciate the blog post, too.

    I just gave MarsEdit a try as I’m fed up with the WordPress admin pages. I’ve got a lot of documentation stuffed in WordPress as pages and need a simpler way of maintaining it. It was quite a disappointment to find out that editing pages isn’t possible with MarsEdit yet. Maybe next version ?

    (Yes found some workarounds on the forum, but they not really workable…)

  8. Daniel Jalkut Says:

    Richard – you’re right, editing pages is not really possible right now. It’s definitely high on the priority list, though. Won’t happen in a “bug fix release” but possibly in 2.2.

  9. Richard Says:

    Daniel, thanks for the update. I’m currently looking at Ecto but it does not do it for me yet. If you are going to do pages make sure you can set the parent/child relationship as well (as you can do in WordPress). If you do implement this I’m sold I guess….
